Oz Clarke, one of the world's most respected wine critics has included six wines from Tim Adams including the Tim Adams Fergus 2006 in his latest book, 250 Best Wines: Wine Buying Guide 2009.
Our fourteenth release of ‘The Fergus’ is named after our neighbour who was good enough to sell us his Grenache grapes in the vintage of 1993 during a desperate shortage of Shiraz and Cabernet. We quickly realized that which had been born from logistics had real potential as a full bodied, but soft style with immediate food compatibility.
Taste Food & Wine 2008, Matthew Jukes and Tyson Stel Yeah. Bring it on. Ferg is an old mate, but he seems to have been on the treadmill and perhaps had a bit of ‘work’ done, because he has never looked so handsome and swaggering. This is a very suave blend of Grenache, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which just glides across your palate with ease – something we bet you thought you’d never see from Bonecrusher Adams.

Palate
|
wine has lifted red berry aromas and flavours, complexed by Grenache spiciness and given extra back palate astringency by the blending of other more tannic red varieties.

Potential
|
It is a mouthfilling wine that may be kept for up to 10 years, but will go nicely with duck, turkey, lamb and gamey meats any time soon.
